As a dance style, R’n’B originated in the late 60’s from people dancing to Blues, Jazz, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Soul music. The style developed further when DJ’s first started repeating dance breaks in their records, encouraging dancers to experiment as they free-styled, creating more and more daring moves, involving locking, spinning, dropping to the floor and quick footwork.

R’n’B continued to evolve through dancers incorporating influences from Capoeira, Afro-Cuban dance and Jamaican Dance Hall.
R’n’B can be animated, raw, vigorous, sexy and expressive… sometimes all at the same time!
